This product SUCK! There is a tree, not 5 feet from my fence with some of the best apples I've ever tasted. But because of this little product, instead of the sweet taste of apple in my mouth, I've got the sweet taste of copper, and a line of welts that would make a dominatrix blush. Don't buy this.

The product description states clearly that this little device can be used in all weather conditions. When unpacked, this does not appear to be the case, and when you read the instructions, on the bottom of the page in small print it says that the product in NOT to be used outdoors unprotected! For a device that is meant to keep a battery 'topped up', typically devices that are not near shelter (snow blowers, tractors, automatic entrance gates, etc) this seems like a fatal design flaw! Other than that - the device seems to work fine as a trickle charger.

When you open the package the literature about the product specifically states that it is "not for use outdoors". You have to pay more to get a weatherproof model.

This is an excellent charger to keep GOOD batteries at peak performance. Batteries that have been used beyond their normal life span or repeatedly dropped and otherwise damaged internally will always cause issues with all chargers. I would never recommend using any nimh battery used beyond normal life expectancy or damaged batteries. A good quality battery will perform at it's peak when using the features of this charger. I get amazing run time out of the 2600mah batteries I use in my camera that came with this charger. Charger, batteries, accessories, carrying case, for the price this can't be beat. It will pay for itself quickly vs alkaline batteries expense and additional waste in our landfills. Only use quality batteries in good condition for any charger. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Amazing charger
A lot of chargers (even "smart" ones) will just blindly attempt to charge cells, and you really don't know which ones are good or not. Or which ones are better than the others. Using this charger is an eye-opening experience! As others have mentioned, it charges each cell individually, and you can check the capacity of each. Bad cells are trivial to spot.

I have been extremely impressed with this charger so far. It is strong and very portable. I am using it right now to charge pastured poultry netting and it is doing an excellent job.
